It's been a week since I actually finished A Memory of Light, and I posted a review on my previous blog just days before I created this blog. The final Wheel of Time book, A Memory of Light, debuts at #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List. A Memory of Light co-written by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, appears more than four years after the death of it progenitor Jordan. After catching up on what we've been doing, we return to The Wheel of Time fantasy series to discuss the concluding volume, A Memory of Light. Let's start with a spoiler-free review, shall we? A Memory of Light is an incredibly fitting end to Robert Jordan's sprawling, immersive and often aggravating Wheel of Time saga. There were times, particularly in the late 90s and early 2000s, when I despaired of this moment ever coming to pass. I finally finished this last night, it took me 3 weeks to read. In A Memory of Light, Lan was especially far off from the Lan I've always known–I found myself trying to disengage when I read his sections and just look for plot points. Parts of the book were really good, some seemed to drag and others seemed to end too abruptly. I'm still not sure what I thought of it. Rather, they take a great story and bring it to life, and as it unfolds manage to make you wish your trip lasted just a little bit longer.
